Orange is the new Apple

In Uncategorized on May 13, 2012 at 10:49 pm

I am hearting orange…been drawn to everything and anything orange lately.

It’s the most optimistic colour I know: deliciously summery and cheerfully happy.

I am taking a big bite into this juiciness, it’s giving me more zest out of life.

For Your Eyes Only

In Uncategorized on April 15, 2012 at 11:49 pm

Sometimes, we, women, forget how important it is to impress ourselves. We often dress up for work, a soirée, a third date, or an ex boyfriend; yet overlook the dress code for valuable alone time.

Curled up on the couch in a robe and Lulu’s, cooking by the fire in your mom’s apron, and worst of all, going to bed in an old “I heart NY” tee… I say it’s time we start dressing up for us. Doesn’t have to be uncomfortably sexy, but does have to be seductive enough that you’d want to spend couple more minutes in front of the full length mirror…

I love what Natalie Portman wore in “the other woman”,  simple, silky, and soft.

I also like the ivory lace slip from La Perla. It’s something you can save for a special night alone.

The kimono robe from Agent Provocateur is another must have. The saying goes that the traditional kimono is  only worn for ceremonious occasions in Japanese culture; I purpose we embrace our bodies in the good stuff as often as we can. After all, everyday should be a toast to us!

Capital L for Lanvin

In Uncategorized on March 4, 2012 at 5:57 pm

The cake at Alber Elbaz’s “birthday” party commemorating his decade at the house of Lanvin was just as sweet as the clothes that leaped down the runway. The show was like a platinum album of Alber’s greatest hits, every look was a precious collectable.

The collection was intense and luscious, like a box of treasures full of colourful jewels and dazzling shine. Colours were bold and saturated, textures were strong and confident, shapes were daring and powerful.

I especially loved Karlie Kloss’s flirty flared dress accentuated with boots and belts for an edgy twist. And monochrome grey has never looked so dashing as they did with the exuberant jewel embellishments.

Alber loves women. He empowers women with clothes that personify her confidence, curves, and character. Lanvin is about she who wears the dress and never the garment itself. I want to toast to the capital L for many more decades of “Love women” dressing from the Lovely Alber Elbaz.

Pretty Perky Peplum

In Uncategorized on February 12, 2012 at 11:14 pm

There’s something precociously naughty about the peplum silhouette.

It’s flirtatious sans the aggressive edge. It accentuates the curves without the cheap obviousness of a body con bandage.

The perky flare is like a magic potion that brings youth to any woman who wears it. I bet it also makes her legs appear 10 inches longer.

It screams of personality and vibe. A statement piece that reveals an unique sense of self.

I purpose we all slip on the brightest tutus and twirl away in our own everlasting spotlight.

Crazy bananas beautiful: Dior Couture by Patrick Demarchelier

Who will be the next Galliano to refresh and renew the house of Dior?

Kate Moss’s summer wedding dress was Galliano’s “rehab” work

“She dared me to be John Galliano again,” he said. “I couldn’t pick up a pencil.”
